OK, I'm sure your aware of the awesome power of locating your very own profitable gap in the market, that elusive and profitable niche market, your golden step up the Internet marketing ladder, so let me get one thing straight from the outset, the web is full of junk and poor advice, served up for the unsuspecting newbie, by the ever increasing number of gurus and probably their dogs as well.

You don't need the fake plastic guru's to tell you how to find a profitable niche market, you see, with a little time and effort on your part you can quite easily find your own successful niche market and build your own profitable web business.

So having removed the temptation of following most other newbie niche marketing wannabe's down that well trodden path to inevitable failure, lets get on with the matter in hand, how do you find a profitable niche market & what makes niche marketing such a safe bet for the newbie marketer?.

A Step by Step Guide to Finding A Niche Market

As almost everyone knows, a newbie or novice Internet marketer or affiliate should focus on a niche market instead of jumping head first into marketing e-books and other highly competitive and overly saturated markets.

For starters, if you aim to master a profitable niche market, you need to have a unique product or service, this could be your own product an affiliate product or Ideally both, remember a niche market doesn't have to be so small and specific that only a handful of people are interested, It can be a sub niche or niche within a larger niche (sub-niche or micro niche).

The trick to coming up with a successful niche market is to look at the fringes of a larger market for unfulfilled needs. For example, what about a dating mini site offering a guide aimed solely at dating for single mums or what about a guide to buying a used car for woman, note: these are just a couple of examples off the top of my head used to illustrate a point and may not be great examples.

Step 1.

Consider your interest and expertise, while this is not the definitive place to start your search, it is well known that novices or newbie marketer's can do well relatively quickly when tackling a subject they already know about. Believe me researching a subject you know nothing whatsoever about can take time to begin with, so leave that for your next niche marketing mini-site when your making money from your first site.

It's very possible that your interest or expertise may already have been saturated, so where does that leave you, well don't worry to much at this point just list the things you know about, even if you only have a limited knowledge of things outside of family and work life (why not list these down too).
