The Niche
Marketing Keyword Research Tool That NOBODY is Talking
About!
By Mark Bishop
I don't know about you but I find the whole niche marketing
keyword research process a little laborious some times, now
don't get me wrong I know the importance of finding those
important little keywords for you niche market.
I'm sure your familiar with the whole process and the
standard advice, find a hot niche, research your keywords, use
Overture or subscribe or Wordtracker etc. Not that there’s
anything wrong with the advice or indeed these tools.
What I suppose has mystified me a little is why no one ever
seems to advocate the use of a free tool called 'Google
Suggest'. I've been using this great little niche market
research tool for some time now for some reason no one seems to
be mentioning it, which I must admit surprises me.
If your niche marketing business needs keyword research (and
lets face it we all need to do this from time to time) or just
information for web pages, perhaps your compiling information
for a Google Adwords PPC campaign or anything else, then this
is something you really must be looking at, and hey this is
FREE.
I use 'Google Suggest' as a keyword idea generator or
brainstorming method, whatever you want to call it this tool is
great and can have few equals.
The idea behind it is like predictive texting on mobile
phones, you start typing something and the
software looks at what you are typing and finishes it off for
you, which gives you a long list of keywords and phrases, I
know there's nothing unique about this particular feature,
however what makes 'Google Suggest' a useful tool to me is the
fact that next to each keyword or phrase you will see the total
search volume based on popularity, from information Google has
saved from actual
searches..
If you look at the numbers to the right of the search terms
returned, you get an instant picture of how popular these
searches are on the internet. Now Google doesn’t exactly spell
this out, but
the 10 results that you see are placed in order of number of
searches.
I find this little trick can produce some interesting
results and perhaps even some niche areas of a sector you may
never have even considered, but why stop there, I like to pull
out a few of the phrases or keywords that catch my eye and then
plug them back into 'Google Suggest' and see what else pops
up.
You can use this tool for niche brainstorming, as a niche
market locator or as part of your overall keyword research
strategy, try it, you can even get a 'Google Suggest' tool bar
now.
Another excellent keyword research tool has recently been
drawn to my attention and has some really great features, the
list is a bit endless and i probably wouldn't be doing the
software justice if i quickly skimmed over it. I will post up a
review as soon as I've had time to trial it, If you want to
take a look for yourself click the link below.
The software is called TrafficTravis, & the company
offer a fully working free version (which is always good), or
you can upgrade to the paid version which offers even more
features
